Simple answer. It is a combination of two things, IMO. 1. In general, those are the types that support censorship, in modern times. Far more than other groups, even more than modern evangelists. 2. The owners and executives of those sites, have found more money in pandering to those types, and most people’s ideologies follow their wallets’. This goes double in Reddit’s case, because they are probably saving hundreds of thousands of dollars by using ideologically driven , mentally ill, volunteer powermods. That probably explains why Facebook, Twitter, Quora, etc. aren’t NEARLY as censorship heavy as Reddit. Feel free to blast my theory apart.
