I'm glad the FBI, CIA, and Jeff Bezos are only interested in schizophrenics and leave me alone

That’s hugely scary bc you can really frick yourself up with inert gas. For ppl who haven’t had the big sad, if you put a bag over your head and fill it with inert gas (helium , nitrogen), you won’t get the “panic response” while you asphyxiate because there’s no build up of CO2.

Didn’t have a BPD diagnosis (just “traits” 👀) but yes I really did DBT and yes it really fixed my problems for the most part. I was mainly just chronically suicidal, I’ve been inpatient thrice but haven’t had any problems in about 4 years (took Prozac for a bit for after a breakup but it wasn’t a serious slip into depression, I just need d some support to get over it). I am happily very stable and boring the days. You?

Sure, short version that’ll trigger the longpostbot anyway.

My mom was a borderline schizo with terrible taste in men. She died of “natural causes” when I was 14 and I cried havoc and let slip the dogs of codependency on all of my relationships for the next ten years. I didn’t think I had BPD at the time, just depression and a proclivity for the dramatic from getting fondled a bit too much as a kid.

I put off therapy since those who championed the normalization of it seemed to all be unsuccessful narcissists, but when I gave it a real try, it was helpful and I was introduced to CBT, which cut the length of depressive episodes in half. After a bad breakup and a shift in work, I was having a slow meltdown and properly saw a psychiatrist. They got me diagnosed and having an idea of why I’d suddenly get the urge to twist the wheel into oncoming traffic (in my personal relationships, but sure, also literally) helped me reformat my expectations.

Funny enough, my social life became a lot better since the diagnosis. I’m not clamoring for external approval now since I know that’s the personality disorder talking. I have a great relationship with some chick from undergrad that apparently doesn’t remember my spergouts, and she came from enough of a damaged home that the fact I don’t yell at her or ask her for money makes me Casanova.

Real talk, I heavily sympathize with other people with this fricking awful disorder. Suicide attempts and that full-nine, and now I’m nearly 30, dropped out of high school (eventually got the diploma), dropped out of college (eventually got the degree) and grad school twice (eventually paid off the loans…), and it feels like dumb luck I’ve been able to get into my dream jobs regardless as a govt economist, where I do like 5 hours of work a week and zone out the other 35.

For the longest time I wanted kids and to run for elected office, but the diagnosis gave me a reality check on both of those, so I’m living my next best life instead as a dog-owner and policy guy.

Happy for you! I’ve also done CBT but truly it was the DBT + practicing the skills which fixed me. Marsha Linehan is a babe ❤️

Darn that really reminds me of my own background. My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low-grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a 15-year-old French prostitute named Chloé with webbed feet. My father would womanize; he would drink; he would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes, he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy, the sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament.

He probably has permanent brain damage if he was actually inhaling nitrogen and incorrectly enough for it to not kill him.

I mean you either keep yourself safe via asphyxiation or fail. It's not like inert gas is going to frick you up beyond that.

Yes it will lol, it happens all the time. People frick up their exit bags enough that they just end up a vegetable.

Unsurprisingly, depriving yourself of oxygen can make you brain dead.

The 19th amendment was a mistake. Women are biologically wired to seek a provider, and in this case, it's the government. Since the 19th amendment was passed in 1919, the government has done nothing but expand and become more intrusive. Social security (a legit ponzi), the welfare state, increased taxation, the list goes on.

Look at the 2016 electoral map if only women voted. 49 states went blue. If only men voted? 49 states went red

Women shouldn't hold office either, or be in combat units in the military. They're emotional and bleed once a month, can't make rational decisions and inherently don't know how to lead, because women who separate themselves from other women in terms of ideas establish themselves as an "outsider" and it lessens their chances of finding a mate. We're animals, and our biology precedes everything.

According to my girlfriend, this opinion is pretty darn unpopular.
