Everyone in there is in so much denial about how they are basically being medically diagnosed as insufferable buttholes. "I don't know why everyone I encounter keeps saying how people with BPD are difficult and terrible." Gee, I don't know. It's a true mystery.

A lot of people like to self diagnose as BPD too. You never know if it's self diagnosed, but someone with BPD is sure to tell you within 5 mins of meeting you, which is great because you can slowly back away sooner rather than later.

Most are just a pain to deal with, not all that interesting. Only mildly interesting one was some woman left my nursing station nonstop voicemails accusing me of trying to kill her because she was weakened and very sick while on induction chemotherapy. She tried to punch me a couple times when I told her we had to do another bone marrow bx after treatment and that I was trying to do unnecessary procedures to harm her. So glad she’s in remission so I don’t have to see her for a couple more months.

I wonder if this girl I dated had BPD, she would argue with absolutely everyone in class including the fricking professor and apparently threw a sign into a bush because the people at a tire shop were taking to long to give her free air for her tires. One day I told her she didn’t need to debate everything with everyone and I think she blocked me and I never heard from her again. Apparently she also had autoimmune issues and was perpetually sick, which sounded like complete BS to me.

Faking perpetual illnesses is a pretty common thing among them cus it gets them sympathy and then whoever they rope in to date has to be a caregiver too, meaning the borderline thinks they will never leave lol. My ex had the rare male variant of it and I just became a caretaker basically, young and DUMB shit but learned some good lessons from it at least haha.

A friend of mine (I did consider claiming I'd done this but I'll be honest) found out a girl was bipolar during post coitus pillow talk first time they had s*x. Bipolar is a mental disorder where your brain chemistry is fricked up and you need medication to balance yourself out.
Borderline Personality Disorder is a personality disorder (hurr durr) that’s often a trauma response from severe childhood abuse and neglect. There’s no medication for it, and you’re kinda fricked if your brain re-wires itself into the batch of symptoms BPD encompasses. It’s why there’s a movement by psychiatrists to stop diagnosing patients with it since it’s basically a death sentence and there aren’t many specific treatments for it. I appreciated my diagnosis since it helped me understand what I needed to avoid to not trigger episodes, but I received it while I was already in therapy for major depression and went through a few antidepressants that weren’t bringing the results we wanted.

It ain’t curable but it’s definitely treatable. Most engage in attention-seeking behaviors because it feels like attention is the salvo for historic neglect and abuse. The right therapies can black pill the borderline into realizing human attention for the sake of itself exacerbates the problem and that you have to re-wire your coping mechanisms for long-term stability.
It’s rough. Reading some of these comments makes me feel sad since I know these hot takes are coming from a place of hurt caused by folks who have untreated BPD. Forgiving yourself for the ringer you put folks you liked or loved through is the first step, and it’s hard since you often have to do it from a place of no social support (since you likely burned all those bridges).
