If you poll any line infantry platoon, I'd be shocked if more than 10% voted for Biden. I'm saying that the small portion of the military that volunteered for jobs with the prospect of personally killing someone is heavily right wing. This group definitely doesn't represent the military as a whole, but you're going to meet very, very few Army or Marine infantry, Rangers, SF, SEALs etc. that aren't right wing. The portion of the military that actually directly fights is relatively small.

The vast majority of active duty enlisted will never have any involvement with pulling a trigger. 4/5 of the modern military supports the 1/5 that do. A dude who fixes water filtration systems or maintains satellite links isn't going to have the same mindset of a dude who volunteered to shoot people in the face. I'm not diminishing the importance of support elements at all because they're what keep a military fighting, but it doesn't change the fact that the majority of people trained to pull triggers are rightoids. What SF group is he with? I was 5th SFG before I went national guard, and I rarely met any tabbed SF dudes who were leftoids. The SF assigned support elements are probably pretty evenly split like the big army. The SF community is definitely less trump-tarded than regular infantry (probably due to the IQ testing), but the vast majority of the guys I've worked with in the Q and in group are rightoids.

Yes, SF is Army Special Forces. Delta/CAG operators stick to themselves, but yes, I've run into them before at home and overseas. Incredibly professional and competent soldiers. They're Tier I for a reason, and they're selection process is beyond gruelling. They get to do all the really cool guy movie shit and basically answer directly to the White House.

In my experience most people are somewhere in the middle - either slightly skeptical of the vax or just making the personal decision to get it without screaming at anyone. And there's a significant overlap here too.

For me the worrying part is not even the death rate, it's the long covid... it's not really well defined, how long it lasts, what are the consequences. This is what convinced me to get vaccinated. (I'm a low risk case)
