Gastropod and Proof have a lot of food science and history that are not woke drivel. 20000hz has stuff about sound design. NPR Politics for exactly what you expect. Ben Shapiro Show for the exact opposite take of NPR. No Such Thing as a Fish and Stuff You Should Know for more talk show style time wasters on runs or errands. Hidden Brain for great takes at the intersection of psychology and economics. Pretty much every WSJ podcast is informative, jokeless, and minimally biased.

thatโs what Iโm talking about. Theyโre surface level pop science fun fact shit that doesnโt teach you anything useful. It sounds like something cool, like a trivia or brain teaser, but it doesnโt teach you shit. If you want to learn, work through a textbook or make something people actually use or something. They have in some โexpertโ to talk about something they believe without good evidence, and everyone comes away with a few fun phrases and no understanding.
I put on a random 99% invisible episode, and itโs aimed libtard idiot going on about how โsocial infrastructureโ can save minorities. And he has some good sounding anecdotes that will absolutely break down if you look into it more whose lesson is โbuild moar librariesโ (dumb, itโs 2020, computers better)

Iโm phoneposting rn but I can get a complete list on my desktop. Iโd say Jupiter Broadcasting is good for Linux and FOSS tech related stuff, but they have very soy banter as expected of 35+ techbros. Itโs kind of insane how bad other podcasts on the same topic are though. I listen to them to pass time at my menial labor jobs or during a commute and they keep my mind preoccupied more than music.
