Tββhese adjustments are born out of conversations we have all the time here on staff, much like the ones happening in your group chats #Pitchfork25 https://t.co/1JbPDqGAb9

There's literally 0 reason to read reviews for any piece of media in the current year. Movies, TV shows, music, games, it's all available somewhat cheaply and in 1 click.
There's a reason why most of them are leaning more heavily into critique/essay/philosophical nonsense "woah this is such a profound critique of capitalism/racism/whatever" - otherwise there'd be no point in them - and lmao imagine letting a piece of entertainment give you a lesson about morality or politics, or consooming a review reinforcing it.

People who read music reviews are cute twinks. Either go to a show with people or listen on some quality speakers at home and then discuss with friends who have similar tastes. If you take the opinions of random journos seriously, youβre too stupid to form opinions or too much of a loser to have friends to talk to.
This morning, Cum went to the park. I went with Coom. And Cum brought Coomer frisbee. At least I think it was Coomers. By the end of the day, Cum started throwing the frisbee to Cumself.

I think you'd have to make a distinction between analysis or historiographical pieces vs reviews. Literally cannot fathom reading a music review for any reason other than to maybe find something new to listen to. Anyone who thinks they can coldly assign a score to one of the most subjective art forms of all time has no soul.

I did make a distinction. At no point did I mention historical contextualization of works, or analysis of song structures. I said REVIEWS. I stand by what I said.

I was agreeing with you, just adding pointless info.

Why read a half hour long review about an hour long album? Just download and then buy if you like it.

They bumped chief keed BFTD1 from a 7.9 to a 9.1 for literally no reason. Iβm a huge Chief Keef fan but that project absolutely does not deserve anything higher than a 7.5. Thotbreaker and BFTD2 on the other hand deserve that score. Not even these hipster writers understand that.

Floyd listened to a bunch of Houston shit and he was a old head, thereβs no way he liked Sosa. He was one of those βkids these daysβ kinda guys if youβve ever seen that one video of him

I wish they would do reviews like that for Radiohead/Thom Yorke stuff. Would cause monumental seething considering RH fans are as insufferable as TOOL fans

It's a darn good album. Listening to "NYC" while taking the Manhattan MTA in the wee hours of the morning when there's only like 5 people in the train with you is absolute perfection.
