Even just making ping notifs a different color would be a huge QoL change, even if they don't get their own notification tab.
As someone who checks this site a few times a day and comments maybe 1-3 times a day, I like ping groups because they bring me to funny posts that I might have normally missed. Stuff like !nonchuds making fun of a particularly pathetic chud moment on chuddrama or random cute animal pics. I guess I view them similarly to the posts from the users I follow, they're still a great part of the site but definitely not the first thing I care about when I open the site.
Makes more sense to have pings work like this for neolibs or mottecels where they're trying to have an actual discussion, but that's just not rdrama (and I'm glad it's not that'd be gay). Most of the time someone pings, it's not to bring a bunch of people into the thread to share their viewpoints or whatever, they're just doing it because it makes their joke slightly funnier or they want to bring more attention to their post.
The past couple weeks I've started just going through my past comments and opening their threads to look for replies because I end up missing half of them otherwise.

I do not understand why anyone is bothered by group pings or why literally anyone would ever care about the color of them. You click on your pings and it shows you the messages and you can see if it's a reply or a group ping then. Why would you give a shit to get that information 1/2 second earlier via color coding?
