Thatβs correct. The Germans signed an unconditional surrender which names all the allies but in particular the βbig threeβ allied powers - the United Kingdom, Russia and the United States of America, who all share credit for Germanyβs defeat.
Notably, of the big three only the United Kingdom was involved for the entire duration of the war, making it the best winner of WW2. π¬π§π¬π§π¬π§

Russia wasn't mentioned at all in any of the documents on the unconditional capitulation, seeing as there was no state by that name in the world at the time.
Notably, of the big three only the Soviet Union has alone destroyed 90% of the German military and actually fought them continuously, in Europe, and for years, making it the best winner of WW2. By far.

UK gave away Rhineland, Sudetenland, and Czechoslovakia in general, back when Nazis were actually extremely beatable (and USSR actually offered to do just that), making them a kitty little-butt b-word, which, again is a great case for the USSR being the best winner
