I’ve never had a problem with the notch. You don’t even notice it and the center top of the screen isn’t used for anything anyways. With the notch it’s like you have a little cupholder on each side to hold you battery/signal status and time.

All flagships are pretty much indistinguishable performance wise nowadays unless you're like training a neural network on your phone for some r-slurred reason.
The on paper performance improvements don't matter for people who just... use normal apps, maybe play a few light games, watch movies, etc

There's something useful to legally do with fast cars, you can take them to a track. That's kind of niche but it's still immediately fun and useful to a lot of people. The ways you can actually see meaningful differences between flagship phones nowadays aren't... they can all hold more apps in memory than you need, load them near immediately, and perform with no noticeable lag.
It's not at all like computers, cars, etc because of how people actually use phones even in niche cases. The environment is a lot more limited
