Reinforcing that you are an exception to gender norms only affirms those norms as the default. It would be easy to gatekeep people who feel "different" and tell them its actually normal but you gotta be inclusive dude! every single opinion is valid even if it undermines the purpose of our movement!

Trans women always been asked to explain themselves. Then someone will critique the impercise answer to invalidate trans people. This has been happening since atleast the 1950's. Because of this, we all know our answers can be problematic. Many of us over the have had said nothing publicly because of this dynamic.

The biggest offenders using this dynamic are feminists. The UK is filled with GC's describing imagined or real trans explanations of their existence that employ shallow sexist sterotypes.

The problem with their approach is that a genuine answer to the question, how do you know that you are trans, might use sexist stereotypes. The person is still trans. They are trying to communicate an a difficult emotional feeling to someone who has not had that emotion.

Why are lefties explanations always just "they are oppressed, therefore their sexist/racism/homophobia/etc is excuseable"? They do the same thing to black people, basically robbing them of agency in a mad rush to protect the heckin BIPOCinos. Someone should post this shit on r/ShitlibSafari, they'd love it :marseylaugh:

I was first inline at a shop counter and two indigenous people behind me. The shop assistant looked at us and asked โ€œok who is firstโ€. I said, โ€œthey are of course, they have been here for more than 60,000 yearsโ€. The two idigenous people smiled and thanked me as I stood aside.
