They do that to try to force people to use the app for better ad tracking (and especially on inconvenient subs). Go to the url/search box and replace the β€œwww.” with β€œold.” and you won’t have that issue. Unfortunately you’ll have to do it every time you open a new tab.

This only seems to pop up on good subreddits, it never appears for normal nerdshit subs. Are they trying to build profiles of problematic users to pass to the glowies? Who knows!

I always switch to desktop mode on my mobile browser to dodge this shit. I'm not sure which browsers have this feature but I use :marseybrave: and it's a quick checkbox in the menu.
