This isn't a joke; I had actually scheduled a lunch with Lowtax for this Saturday. Despite a (let's call it) checkered past, I was extremely excited to meet him, since he's been a huge influence to my sense of humor and Something Awful was really important to me as a teenager.

Founder of a website that was one of the bigger sites back in the early 2000s. Drew in a lot of game developers and photoshop people to pump out memes. During the run up to 2008 election, the boards suddenly turned into an extreme leftist space due to various mods and a particular birthing person admin (like the "Mao had to kill those people" types). A lot of them also realized they were actually trans. They started to support each others transition leading to an surprising amount of them congregating in a time they were an extremely fringe group (keep in mind this is back in 2010). So the people grooming teenagers on reddit now were probably themselves groomed by former SA posters. He was also later forced to sell the website (this year I think?) after making some anti-trans comments as well.
