This is further proof of my theory that every problem we suffer as a society is made worse by republicans. California is an overwhelmingly blue "s0ciALiSt" state, yet it can do this, and also make up the federal tax shortfalls put upon the system by red states, who are so mismanaged they are a constant drain on federal system. Remember what republicans did to school loans and for profit college schemes? DeVos and her cronies? Mark my words, that is how red states are going to handle the upcoming end-of-moratorium situation. There will record evictions and people will profit from those evictions and hardships. California handling this is a textbook case of how to run a state government. I wonder if any republicans who are going to be displaced will still consider Mr Potato Heads genitals more important than real governing?

There's nowhere back east except NYC that comes even close to SF Bay comp, and New York is a worse shithole than San Fran. At least in Northern California you can get out to like, Yosemite or Sequoia. Get outside of NY and you're in Jersey.

Real estate in California is nuts, plenty of tales of old couples (or their heirs) who bought simple basic houses in the 1960s in what used to be low value land selling them for $1million+ with no modern renovation or anything.

There’s a video of some breadtuber having a breakdown because he can’t buy a house for asking price in LA and blaming rich people or capitalism or whatever because buying a house for asking price is Human Right. Watching him flip out was like cocaine right into my eyeballs

So first of all, the Feds take 25% of your check because military spending is WAY out of control. Cut back the military budget by at least 25% and move that money to other departments and be paying the same amount with more to show for it. Secondly, it’s California paying off the rents, not the Federal government. And it’s better than what Texas is doing. Using tax dollars to finish that useless wall.

70% of the people in this country have to pay for a war they never agreed to go into or wanted. We aren’t getting compensation for disagreeing with that, but I’m not complaining either because it’s not my choice. I still disagree but guess what, my taxes fund that atrocity.
