So, if they met a trans man and were attracted to him, if that man has a vagina they would not be interested in s*x because they’re just not interested in vaginas. To be interested in people with vaginas and peepeees is to be bi or pan because sexuality to them is about genitals, not gender expression.

Sure but I would say that gender expression and gender itself does play a role in cis people's sexuality even if they deny that it does. Obviously, compatibility is an issue and I'm fine with saying someone compatible with both peepeees and vaginas is bi/pan if that's the nomenclature people want to use. That or we can create new sexuality labels which is probably the best solution because a trinary of bi/het/homo that seems to be the common lexicon seems inadequate. Although, I don't see why a cis woman attracted to and willing to have s*x with both cis and trans men can't see herself as a heterosexual. I think that's fine but the notion seems to bother cis people so....I won't question it.

However, there is a reason that say, many cishet women aren't out here dating pre/non-op trans women for example despite having the genitals they are interested in.(Yes, I realize there are cishet women who date trans women they just aren't a majority). Even cis hetero women who are attracted to effeminate cis men don't usually go for the average trans woman. That initial attraction just isn't there. Thus, I think gender, genitals, and gender expression all matter just that cis people collapse all three things into one thing and call that sexuality. The prioritization of which of these matter in terms of how someone identifies their sexuality most likely varies with for most people, genitals accounting for the deciding factor. That's why you can have say both cishet men and cishet women both be attracted to trans men, for example, and both self-ID as heterosexual.

Eh....as I said more people considering themselves bi/pan is fine by me. Bi/pan folks are cool and I don't think it's a bad thing if their numbers grow. Debates surrounding sexuality aren't really for me as a trans person to weigh in on, that type of thing doesn't really include us anyhow. Just my intellectual curiosity
