TBH when I first googled the phobia and saw all the pictures of people's fricked up skin and shit, I did feel uncomfortable - probably because it looks like nasty disease and just really repulsive. It's probably just an evolution impulse to feel weird when seeing mangled people, just like with manlets.

I don't get feeling weird from inanimate objects tho.

I think this was the Pikmin wiki but an article i read seriously suggested olimar had trypophobia because he mentioned not liking what looked like an insect infested object or food. I share this anecdote because i thought that was like the peak of this phobia's omnipresence among people making stuff up for attention, as it's not a real phobia, this video explains how dumb it is as a phobia:
