The core tenets of Trumptardโs ideology is reminiscing about pre 9/11 America for the most part.
The concept is quite vague but they essentially want to go back to the time period (80s-90s?) when America was well respected globally and they basically had most things going their way.
If you think about it, most boomers experienced their golden years this time and they experienced a decent economy and flourishing culture so they just wanna go back to their youth

In my opinion, the 80's were pretty good. (But we couldn't get gay married! I hear people say.) Boy George was regularly at the top of the charts. George Michael came out as gay and no one gave a shit. There was a sense of economic well-being. Being successful was not something people shamed you for. Groups were not as pitted against each other, they were getting to know each other. The cold war was thawing. There was a sense of optimism about the future.

Lol the 80s was an illusion at best. The cold war ending was considered the "end of history" and the US thought they'd just be the only world power and have a fairy tale ending.
The reality is by most metrics the 80s was worse than today is, things just felt better because you had less access to information and were coming off a time period in which everyone thought they'd die in nuclear hellfire.
