[stolen from srd] Did Jesus REALLY mean it when he criticized the wealthy? Should Christians be as critical of billionaires as they are of gay people? /r/Christianity has their daily LGBT inquisition.

Top thread with over 900 comments: If christians were as rabidly against obscenely rich people like they are against the LGBTQIA community, the world would be such a better place

Pretty sure it's also mentioned a shit load more in the bible also.

The Bible tells us the homosexuality is a sin. It does not say that about wealth.

Being rich isn't a sin, sexual immorality is. A lot of rich people commit horrible sins on their way, but their sin will find them out.

Being rich isn't a sin 71 children

About a sarcastic comment about "recruiting children": "Isn’t that how they reproduce?"

Once Christians stop claiming homosexual acts are not sinful, we will stop. But they not only claim this, but encourage others to believe the same. Once Christians claim the love of money isn't a sin, we will also tell them they're wrong. 18 children

Love means sacrifice, as Jesus gave it all for God's glory... it seems to me that LGTBQ are more concerned with validation than with obedience. Lev 18:22 states it pretty clear that homosexuality is ungodly. But it is an act, it is a choice, take up your cross and realize that to be tempted is human; to overcome is divine.

Dumb post. But fine. I am willing to concede that the love of money and greed is almost as dangerous as the sin of porneia. 17 children

The fact that so many comments claim the Bible is clearly against homosexuality but says nothing about hoarding wealth goes to show how poorly Christians know the Bible but instead just say what their right-wing leaders tell them to. 125 children

Context for all of this which is what a lot of the arguing in the comments is about:

17 As he was setting out on a journey, a man ran up and knelt before him and asked him, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” 18 Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone. 19 You know the commandments: ‘You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not bear false witness. You shall not defraud. Honor your father and mother.’ ” 20 He said to him, “Teacher, I have kept all these since my youth.” 21 Jesus, looking at him, loved him and said, “You lack one thing; go, sell what you own, and give the money[d] to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me.” 22 When he heard this, he was shocked and went away grieving, for he had many possessions.

23 Then Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, “How hard it will be for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God!” 24 And the disciples were perplexed at these words. But Jesus said to them again, “Children, how hard it is[e] to enter the kingdom of God! 25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.” 26 They were greatly astounded and said to one another,[f] “Then who can be saved?” 27 Jesus looked at them and said, “For mortals it is impossible, but not for God; for God all things are possible.”

28 Peter began to say to him, “Look, we have left everything and followed you.” 29 Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for my sake and for the sake of the good news[g] 30 who will not receive a hundredfold now in this age—houses, brothers and sisters, mothers and children, and fields, with persecutions—and in the age to come eternal life. 31 But many who are first will be last, and the last will be first.”

/r/Christianity is very similar to /r/LoveForLandlords - just a bunch of people pretending to be something they're not and never will be

What the frick did you just fricking say about me, you little landlet? I'll have you know I graduated top of my class at the landlord academy, and I've been involved in numerous secret home renovations, and I have over 300 confirmed properties. I am trained in land warfare and I'm the top landlord on the entirety of rdrama. You are nothing to me but just another rentcel. I will wipe you the frick out with rent the price of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fricking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fricker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of land prospectors across the USA and your rental agreement is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, straggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your bank account. You're fricking poor, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can catch you violate the contract in over seven hundred ways, and that's just with my bare eyes. Not only am I extensively trained in land management, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States many homeowner associations and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable butt off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little "clever" comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fricking tongue. But you couldn't, you didn't, and now you're paying the price, you goddarn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You're fricking dead, kiddo.

/r/christianity is possibly the worst place on the reddit barring /r/athiesm to discuss the Faith. It has been corrupted by the usual suspects to a place that follows a crude mockery of God's written word. It is moderated by "lesbians" (:marseytrain:), an athiest, and a MUSLIM of all things :marseybangfast:.

It is hilarious how much that "camel through an eye of a needle" line is misquoted without the next two sentences that are crucial to the point
