They/them has been used as a singular in the English language of multiple countries, including the U.S., for hundreds of years.
Also anyone who pays for anything to Twitter, check mark or βsuper followβ should be relentlessly made fun of.

Yes it has been used before the great tumblr gender confusion. but extremely rarely.
Among all the books and films that came out before 2005, how often do you estimate was a singular "they" used compared to "he"/"she"/"it"? I'd say less than 1 : 10000.

Usage being rare doesn't make it ungrammatical, wtf are you on about.

You're not wrong but the way it's been used in the context of enbies is pretty r-slurred, just look at some of the articles on Ezra Miller for example.

Bringing up usage is fricking r-slurred. Style guides and dictionaries prescribe grammar, and they/their is the literal opposite of one/one's. It's called a usage problem, and the erosion of language shouldn't be cited as proof as to why fortuitous now means lucky, flaccid is pronounced without a k sound, and we can refer to antecedent individuals as 'that'.
English stopped existing after everyone forgot how to use the word 'whence'.
Don't forget to turn off signatures in settings!

What the frick are you even talking about? Usage has nothing to do with style guides or dictionaries. They're two completely different things. And how the frick is "they/their" the opposite of "one/one's"? That makes no fricking sense.
You're just a fricking idiot who doesn't know what they're talking about. So frick off and leave the rest of us alone.

Hmm... people who want you to use "they" pronouns get angry when you call them "he or she".
A better way to say "he or she" in text (unrelated to cluster B enbies) would be "sHe", "s*he" or "s:he", similar to how German wokies handle their heavily gendered language.
IMHO "s:he" is the most aesthetically pleasing option.
