Redditors sneed over best healthcare deal ever

https://old.reddit.com/r/mildlyinteresting/comments/z0oo4h/my_city_rolled_out_a_yearly_ems_subscription/

If you unironically support free healthcare you're r-slurred. If we get free healthcare all that will happen is a bunch of r-slurs will start demanding full check ups every time they get a new pimple on their ass.

60$ a year is a great compromise. If you cant afford it you deserve to die.

>Is this something I'm to European to understand? Do you have to pay for firetrucks during a fire and police during a terrorist attack too?

>Dear ameriKKKa, You are broken. Sincerely, Almost the entirety of the rest of the world.

>Meanwhile here in Germany: Ambulance is free 🤷🏻‍♂️

>And my country has universal healthcare, which makes ambulance rides free

>Lol, that fricking country, man.

>r/boringdystopia

>lmao, imagine paying for a fricking ambulance...

>fricking kill me now

>Ya'll don't get free health care?

>As an Aussie this is just odd. I wouldn't get charged for calling the police so why an ambulance?

>Aussie here: do ameriKKKans just not know how bad they have it when it comes to healthcare?

Ok im australian and i can say with firsthand certainty, they charge your butt for an ambulance lmao.

>i fricking hate it here

>$60 per year is way cheaper than the amount of extra tax Europeans pay their “free” healthcare. My private healthcare coverage also costs me less than what Europeans pay and it includes ambulance coverage. But if I didn’t have that, then I would sign up for this service! Thanks for sharing OP!

>Single-payer healthcare or socialist revolution. The choice is yours, fatcats. Be grateful that the guillotine isn't on the table just yet.

You cant afford 60$ a year wtf you gonna revolt with?

>God I hate the ameriKKKan healthcare system.

Even in canada u pay a nominal ambulance fee to stop poors from using it like a bus service

  • 113

Yeah it's $75 bucks PER ambulance trip to get a ride to the hospital to then wait in the ER for 22 hours and hopefully not die before seeing a nurse who was trained in a third world country you've never heard of before or a doctor with an accent so thick you don't understand.

I think seniors get a break and pay $45 for an ambulance but $60 a YEAR for a whole household is an awesome deal.

ameriKKKans who envy our "free" Canadian health care system are r-slurs.

The first they suggest is to keep yourself safe.

  • 14

This can change depending on the provinces, in the maritimes it can get up to 650 depending on the circumstances.

$60 a year is a good deal if you're not subsidizing other people's trips already.

  • 13

Redditors are too gay to do anything that could make them injured, so they wouldnt know how an actual ambulance costs.

  • 50

:marseychonker2:

What about heart attacks?

  • 39

They use their parents' health insurance because they're still dependants anyway.

45 year old dependent

  • 9

It's like $2k per trip where I live but then you get actually good treatment. Compare to @Wuzizname's firsthand account

  • 15

And it's like 400 bucks if a doctor decides you didn't need to call it

  • 10

This country is too fat for universal healthcare. :marseyscooter:

people don't trust the rest of society to not abuse the system.

universal healthcare can too easily be abused, so you can only implement it in high-trust societies that have informal mechanisms to prevent this abuse.

if you have high diversity you'll have low trust, unless there are strong unifying factors to make up for it -- the US used to have patriotism and christianity for that. both often seemed ridiculous to europeans, whose countries didn't need them to keep from falling apart.

Nowadays most western european countries, if they didn't already have universal healthcare, there's no way a voting majority would agree to introducing it now.

Ambulances are free in euroland.

As a result, people literally die waiting 40 hours for the amberlamps.

One of the articles I read last time mentioned maybe 1:7 ambulance calls are actually life-threatening. Make ambulances free, people treat them like Ubers

In the US we shift this burden to the ERs themselves. If you're about to die in the waiting room they'll usually roll you in. On the flipside, if you're unnecessarily using the ER as an ordinary doctor checkup, it'll run you $2-4,000.

Our ambulances are ridiculously expensive on their own but that's sort of a separate issue.

  • 26

As a result, people literally die waiting 40 hours for the amberlamps.

always the same shit with burgers, posting examples from bongbong land and thinking it applies too all European countries. You know we have different systems right? It is like saying North ameriKKKa has a drug cartel problem

  • 10

Sorry should i post more examples? That particular one was Scotland.

  • 11

yea find one from Scandinavia

  • 5

Scandinavian ambulances are just future Trucks of Peace.

But more seriously here's one where a boy died because the dispatcher told the caller to frick off and do it herself. The same article talks about a homeless guy who died while the dispatcher watched loli hentai for an hour before sending the ambulance.

  • 3

I'm not from "bongbong land" you idiot, I'm from Europe. And I know that different countries have different systems, but that doesn't mean that the problems in one country don't apply to the rest of us. North ameriKKKa may have a drug cartel problem, but that doesn't mean that Europe doesn't have its own problems.

  • 7

>pay $60 for an ambulance subscription

>get T-boned just ouside the city limits

>it will be $600000 plus tip

  • 42

this will seldom be an issue because hustlebustlers can't afford to leave the city

  • 15

Meanwhile here in Germany: Ambulance is free 🤷🏻‍♂️

If you pay for it with tax being deducted from every paycheck it's actually free. :brainletcaved:

  • 40

Mental midgets literally seem to think that if they don’t pay for something then and there, it is “free”.

  • 20

Its free to them bc they are poor tbh

  • 15

The dollar sign goes before the amount. Don't be a European about it.

  • 27

Holy shit, is this real?

I have approximately the best health insurance money can buy at the moment (but not for much longer thanks to subsidy changes) and ground ambulance services would still cost me an order of magnitude above that

  • 24

It's more an insurance thing I think. Most people won't need the ambulance the whole year.

  • 10

I should be legal to slap anyone in the face who says we should have healthcare like canada

  • 22

As an Aussie this is just odd. I wouldn't get charged for calling the police so why an ambulance?

r-slurred Auscel. Australia does in fact have a user pays system for its ambulances, with a yearly subscription model for all adults.

  • 21

First of all, learn how to spell my name correctly. Second of all, you're wrong - Australia has a free healthcare system. It's called Medicare, and it's available to all Australian residents. So please, do your research before you open your mouth and make an idiot of yourself.

  • 3

stfu r-slur. ambulance isn't covered by medicare. some states (like qld) have a system where it's paid by taxes (car rego fees). in other states you either buy a plan, or it'll cost you like $1500.

  • 1

stfu yourself, you ignorant idiot. first of all, medicare is a federal program, so it covers ambulance services in all states. secondly, even in states where ambulance services are not covered by medicare, it's not like $1500 is going to break the bank. so stop spreading lies and false information, and get your facts straight before you open your mouth.

  • 1

>medicare is a federal program, so it covers ambulance services in all states

>secondly, even in states where ambulance services are not covered by medicare

  • 1

>As an Aussie this is just odd. I wouldn't get charged for calling the police so why an ambulance?

>Aussie here: do ameriKKKans just not know how bad they have it when it comes to healthcare?

Are these people r-slurred? I don’t pay for private healthcare but I still have the $65 per year for ambulance cover just so I don’t blow my wallet out if I have to go in one

  • 19

I wouldn't get charged for calling the police so why an ambulance?

Not every state has this, NSW charges you to ride the ambulance

  • 1

>If you unironically support free healthcare you're r-slurred. If we get free healthcare all that will happen is a bunch of r-slurs will start demanding full check ups every time they get a new pimple on their ass.

This already happens with poors on Medicaid. They take their kids into the ER for the common cold. I never met anyone in my entire childhood that was so sick from the flu or cold that they went to the emergency room, but in my limited visits to the hospital it’s a bunch of latinx children with a runny nose. Hence the rise in Urgent Care centers to lighten the load on hospitals.

:m#arseyno:Pay for your ambulance

  • 17

60$ a year is a great compromise. If you cant afford it you deserve to die.

:#marseykneel:

  • 14

Even if we had universal healthcare ambulances would still cost money because they are under completely different management than your doctors office or hospital.

  • 12

Paying insurance for something that costs ~$1000 is fricking r-slurred, especially since even if you don't have the money the ambulance can't not take you to the hospital.

  • 11

But if you do have the money, they’ll milk you for an insane amount and take it to court if you don’t pay up.

It’s a total scam of an industry.

  • 4

>Meanwhile here in Germany: Ambulance is free 🤷🏻‍♂️

No it fricking isn't. If you ride with an ambulance in Germany, they'll send you a bill over 200€ after your hospital discharge.

  • 10

But I could buy a video game with that money!

  • 7

As a European/Australian/Canadian/Sentinelese Islander

years ago a dude i worked with started having a appendicitis and ended up leaving in an ambulance. his bill for that ride was $8,000 lmao.
