I've always thought hawks were pretty dumb. Once had one get stick in my bird coop. Rather than walk out the door, or fly out the window he had come in he was just panic flying into walls. When I went in there to get him out he just sat in the corner and puffed up to try and scare me. Ended up moving my birds out and leaving the windows and doors open, he found his own way out.

Zamn. I know the smartest birds in general are ravens and gray parrots but I don’t think they’re birds of prey :marseycry:

can you guess who the smartest is?

probably a social bird of prey. So I’d guess something like a Harris Hawk or one of the caracaras.

Jump in the discussion.

you’re close with the social part but no

As for smartest bird of prey, I’m guessing it’s probably not an eagle or hawk. Love them but they’re dumb as shit. Honestly I’m coming up blank but my guess is it’s probably a water bird.

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

water birds arent birds of prey

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

crows and ravens

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

Those aren’t birds of prey. I looked it up and unsurprisingly the answer is a niche genre of bird called a caracara. They kinda look like ravens but they’re actually more related to parrots than anything which explains the brains.
