So in RSA, striking like the French or European football hooligans is a national passtime.

It's considered a weak butt protest/riot if at least one school or train station hasn't been burned down, and at least one national Highway not been locked down.

CONTEXT (3): South African Farm Murders

So in South Africa, there has been an epidemic of gruesome farm murders for the past 25 years. The talk of which is as politically controversial as they come, as they usually target primarily white farmers, or boers both ethically the descriptor and the occupation.

They usually flair up per province or region every 3-5 year cycle, similar to Isreal-Palestine spats, or Burgerland BLM riots prior to election years; whenever an especially horrific or gruesomely brutal farmhouse murder had taken place in which every single family member, including the infants have been cold-bloodedly slaughtered or something of that caliber.

So why are Farm Attacks controversial?

For internal RSA groups, the National police force wants to generally downplay the severity and recurrence of farm attacks, as it is another public display of their incompetence and corruption. I'm too tired to do further specific race based research, but from StatsSA, crime stats can be summed up from memory as follows: the murder rate for all races is basically equal, differences are negligent. In RSA Black people and coloureds make the majority of murders in urban places like Joburg or Cape Town. The majority of those murders in cities are between gang members, so once again if you stay away from the foulest dark alleys, then it's rare for tourists to ever be in danger (you'll still likely be robbed though). Mayos are the least likely to be murdered in cities, followed by indians. This is then again inverted for rural places/farms where mayos become the most likely to be murdered by between a factor of 2-5 than their black peers , depending on the province, from West Cape being the safest, and Kwazulu-Natal being the most dangerous. CONTEXT (4): Mayos organize 2019 Farm Murders Protest Rallies

So I've tried really fricking hard to research which specific farm murder finally kicked off the hornets nest specifically for 2019 rallies, but most of these were printed in newspapers. I think the final nail in the coffin was when AfriForum's Deputy CEO Ernst Roets went full r-slur and became the biggest defender of the SAU flag, stating that it is an expression of free speech, which must not be conflated with hatred.
