The way you've quoted the stats implies that race is the crucial factor. But it's well documented that knife crime is related to poverty and deprivation. Black people are much more likely to live in deprived areas, ergo more likely to be involved in knife crime. The race/knife crime point is a case of confusing correlation and causation.

I think what bothers me about this super common argument is that they act like it's somehow impossible to account for this. Like you can literally take crime statistics and correct for annual income, net worth, etc. and the picture really doesn't change that much.
