I guess I'm just speaking from my own experience. I currently am an urbancel exactly for the reasons you mention, but I do miss living rurally. I live in a mid-quality apartment (or so they claim) and I can hear my neighbors when they are shouting at the TV or playing music. I definitely miss the space and quiet I had, but I'm hoping at some point to save up for at some point at least a townhouse exactly to avoid the noise problem and some of the space problems I'm having. At least where I live townhouses are stupid expensive and I get a pretty high salary.
