Action films made after 1999 are almost universally awful. Rediculous over-the-top special effects nonsense like that completely ruins the suspension of disbelief for me.

Alcoholic cop and sidekick jumping off exploding bulk carrier just in the nick of time, I can accept. Driving a car into an airborne helicopter, or truck vs F-35 on a collapsing overpass I absolutely cannot.
