You can't post or do anything but read on public email services. I used a personal domain, but I got blacklisted (can read but nothing else) after I pointed out that Reddit is a bunch of pedos and linked /r/SexPositiveHomes. So I signed up with an email from a client of mine but I don't post. If they got hacked and my account was leaked, it wouldn't matter. I don't post.
They blacklist rather than whitelist, so you can use any domain name of yours and have access to everything.

I like the realness too. Some of them are burnt out, which happens to every dev from 20s-30s. You work too much and now the job you loved is something that makes you want to keep yourself safe. That's what I get out of a lot of them. That boomer saying to do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life is not for corporate jobs. In fact, you do what you love and corporations will make you hate it soon enough.

People get really attached. It’s what drives them to become great but then they burn out when they don’t get the promotion, technical decisions don’t go their way, product guy is a dumb butthole etc. nerds also have a deep need to be seen as smart and good.
In the really high places, they all came from Harvard MIT etc, meaning they were on the treadmill since they were born. Everything went their way for 20 years and now it’s hard.
And many of them are too neurodivergent to be good at the politics part, which becomes more important as you go along. I knew I was bad at that game so I never tried to play.
You have to figure out how to detach from it all, just not so much that you get fired.

I absolutely refuse to watch this film on principal. All it does is glorify the "lone wolf white male" archetype. It gives incels and and nazis a hero figure for them to look up to.
