I'm not going to post the whole thing, not because it's long, but because it's boring.

Well apparently my mom is super loud in bed. Her bedroom is directly above my living area. Over the past few weeks, we have been able to hear her very loudly having s*x and the whole house shakes. I have a funko pop collection on shelves on the wall and over the last few weeks 7 have fallen off the wall from the house shaking. None of them have every fallen in the past.

Anyway, I’m writing this post bc Monday morning my bf and I had to leave the house at 8am because we were woken up by the house shaking and a funko falling, and after 35 minutes of waiting for it to stop we finally got up and left.

My bf and I both work a lot. He’s a cook and i’m a hairdresser still in the early stages of my career. Monday is our only day to really decompress. I had a long week and was really looking forward to sleeping in. I spent the whole day uncomfortable tired and angry instead.

thanks for the suggestion but my post isn’t about asking for my options, it is asking how do i respectfully speak to my mom about the situation.

It isn’t time to move out. if we move out now while we are both beginning our careers we will burn through our savings in rent in a very short time, while not investing in ownership of anything- just burning the money. we are saving for a down payment on a home. i didn’t think i was going to have to explain any of this since it’s irrelevant.

It’s not cool to want control how other people experience and express pleasure.

I would in a very casual maybe girlfriend gossip kind of way tell your mom you can hear her having s*x, and it literally shakes the shelves.

Be cool about it.

No judgment in your tone. Celebrate with her that she’s having the time of her life. Tell her not to be embarrassed and that you totally don’t mind you you just thought she should know.

Let her decide if she’s going to try and quiet down, because honestly neither of you should care.

yes. not full market value- that’s the benefit for us of staying here. we’re saving for a house. we also contribute around the house in several ways including taking care of all the yard work
