After reading I thoughtKinbote was really a professor named Kinbote but went crazy after Shade’s murder (a random psycho coming to kill the judge in what he presumed to be his house) and came up with all the crazy details and Zembla while holed up in a cabin hiding from Shade’s wife/the college, and had some sorta gay attraction toward Shade that helped form the gay king backstory but it’s more fun to take it as almost completely true. Imagine The disposed king of a small European country being found out as a random disregarded professor in the US? Interesting, my take on the story was thatKinbote was a schizo who invented Zembla because Shade’s poem mentioned it on a line, he gives so many details about the King, Zembla and Grudus that it makes me believe they may have been all the same person, and after murdering Shade he went into hiding, and wrote the commentary reimagining his story but you’re right, if the story was true it would have been way more funny, and Kinbote would still be psycho with some p-do vibes (the Gordon thing was super creepy). Gotta love Nabokov, I’m gonna start Lolita after finishing Hamlet.
I didn’t know that story about marshall Ney, super interesting theory, sometimes history surpasses the most creative fiction writers.

Here’s the short version: Pepe is a cartoon frog who began his internet life as an innocent meme enjoyed by teenagers and pop stars alike.
But in recent months, Pepe’s been almost entirely co-opted by the white supremacists who call themselves the “alt-right.” They’ve decided to take back Pepe by adding swastikas and other symbols of anti-semitism and white supremacy.
“We basically mixed Pepe in with Nazi propaganda, etc. We built that association,” one prominent white supremacist told the Daily Beast.
Trump has retweeted his white supremacist supporters with regularity, but the connection between the alt-right and his campaign continues to strengthen. Trump has been slow to disavow support from Ku Klux Klansmen and white supremacy groups, and he recently hired Breitbart.com’s Steve Bannon as his campaign CEO (and Bannon isn’t shy about the fact that his “news” organization is the “platform for the alt-right”).
Now white supremacists have given Pepe the cartoon frog some Trump hair—and the candidate’s own son says he is “honored to be grouped with” him.
Let me get this straight: Trump’s presidential campaign is posting memes associated with white supremacy online?
