I hate the way extremist wingcucks always defend the most awful people because of tribalism. Like do you remember when all the moronic BLM activists decided to circle the wagons and defend Jussie Smollett even though it was obvious to anybody with half a brain that Jussie was guilty as frick? I feel like this is the right-wing equivalent of that. When you see a man literally getting murdered on live TV and make excuses for it because the murderer happens to be on your political team, then you have lost the plot and deserve to go straight to heck

I saw a knee, I saw a neck, I saw pressure being applied. And it was completely unnecessary, especially after George Floyd said he couldn't breathe and was lying face-down on the ground.
It doesn't matter whether George was on fent: he was a U.S. citizen and nobody deserves to have their legal rights violated just because you think they're one of the bad people, whatever the frick "bad people" consist of in Current Year. The definition seems to change on an ongoing basis

You should really watch the full footage where he begs to lay on the ground because he can't breath in the squad car.

Well he choked to death in police custody, so clearly breathing was indeed the issue here. Well diagnosed sir; you are truly the Garry Chess of rdrama

Literally that's what juries are for, but we've got the all-time Great Minds of Reddit out here trying to convince me that they have a better take based on watching 30 minutes of cherry-picked partisan video clips rather than the jury which spent weeks on this hearing both sides of the issue

Chauvin wasn't trying too kill Floyd when there was a whole crowd watching. @coronya think he had neighbor fatigue and was probably trying too give Floyd a hard time and inflict some pain, but criminals also tend too say whatever they think will help them when they're caught and Chauvin was tuning Floyd's protests out. Chauvin also had too make sure Floyd stayed on the ground

I mean yeah I agree with you but when cops have a suspect in custody they have a duty to make sure the suspects don't die. Floyd was handcuffed and not much of a threat anymore, so there were any number of things Derek Chauvin could have done to prevent his death. Shit, he could even have used a pen to give George an emergency tracheotomy, and I'd still have defended Chauvin for doing that, despite the terrible optics.
But he did absolutely none of those things, so I have zero sympathy for him. Like I said, when somebody dies in police custody, the police are accountable for that. They don't get to excuse themselves with "Oh it was just a mistake bro" because if we allow them to make excuses then we are endorsing them making more "mistakes." The only thing that stops "mistakes" like this from happening is when the mistakes have consequences for the people who make them. Is it fair that Chauvin should go to jail for life for an unintentional mistake? Yes, absolutely. When you unjustly take a life, then you also owe a life: specifically yours. When you have the power of life or death over people you need to be really fricking careful how you use it.
Let me put it this way: how conservatives allow police to treat black fent addicts is much the same way as how liberals allow police to treat January 6th protesters

It's a hold that's used by police force all over the world and no one has ever died from it, but the one case happens to be a guy with a multiple times the lethal dose of fentanyl in his body, which is completely ignored. Really fricking curious.

Well he was supposed to be sitting quietly in the back seat of a car but he was busy dying of a fent overdose instead so they let him lay on the ground until he stopped having a meth addict tantrum.

He 100% kept his knee on him as a frick you to the crowd. He was more concerned with making a power move to show he wasn't a b-word than he was with Floyd clearly dying.
Also, he was a b-word. Look at the size of his arms. Zero muscle. Zero.

I don't support that either: in fact I publically criticized it here. In fact I would have been OK with gunning down all the George Floyd rioters. I expect police to obey the law, and I also expect people who protest against police to obey the law
