So I've heard reddit is heavily astroturfed, and I don't doubt it, but is there any proof of it?

It’s not. No one gives a shit about redditors. Even for advertisers and unblockable ads, redditors are orders of magnitude cheaper than any other platform.

r/murderedbyaoc, specifically u/lrlOurPresident is clearly some sort of political operative account

No proof, but I believe it is when I see comment sections that repeat the same thing almost verbatim a thousand times. For example anything jack black is frontpage’d and has “jack black is a national treasure” repeated in every other comment. Probably not a good example since this is likely just zoomer r-sluration, though.

Yeah, also how quickly people respond and comment on things. Also there's the idea that it seems like a pretty easy way to help control narratives

Okay so

The samurai were officially abolished as a caste in Japanese society during the Meiji Restoration in 1867

The first ever fax machine, the "printing telegraph", was invented in 1843

And Abraham Lincoln was famously assassinated at Ford's Theatre in 1865

Which means

There was a 22 year window in which a samurai could have sent a fax to Abraham Lincoln

i dont really think its astroturfed as much as they keep banning random subreddits for r-slurred reasons
