Basically the former president of child medicine in the UK, Hilary Cass, did a formal paper dubbed the Cass review, showing exactly what has been repeatedly shown in every single review or study of giving kids hormones, which is that it literally does no good at most, and moreso can potentially do harm, violating not one but two core principles of medicine according to the Hippopotamus Oath. (source: me, I'm a nurse)

And that's it lol. That's all the WPATH (men) basically has to say in retort after getting chaos dunked by one doctor (woman). No attacking the heart of the issue which is literally that the trans body of evidence is as real as a pooner peepee or a neovagene.

In my own backyard as a long time activist in the skeptics movement against pseudoscience like chiropractic/acupuncture/homeopathy/naturopathy etc. it appears many people are being banned from the skepticism subreddit over this dilemma, myself included lol. The postulates of science-based medicine and to a lesser degree evidence-based medicine are underpinned by the Hippocratic oath to first do no harm, and then do good. If there's any question in the former, the practice in principle should stopped and only done under good controls, which is how they teased out how complicated shit heart surgery like mammary artery ligation actually did no good until they literally had a control group where they did a mock surgery on the patient compared to one who didn't get the actual heart procedure:

I dunno seems like a good argument for keeping the decision localized to parents and specific doctors, and not the Bong bureaucracy fetishists.
This is the same game played by people who deny evidence surrounding the concept of IQ -- hold the concept to a uniquely high standard of evidence nothing else is held to and claim it doesnt meet that standard of evidence.
Transphobes did the same exact thing with adult transgender medicine during the Reagan administration with the Raymond report, which follows a strikingly similar pattern -- commission a known transphobe who had nothing to do with trans medicine to write a report claiming there isnt enough evidence, and then use that report itself as evidence that there isnt enough evidence.
People who believe what you believe have been claiming there will be a massive detransition wave any day now for over a decade, why should anybody listen to them? You can only cry wolf for so long, which is why you feel the need to push blanket bans not used in any other medical situation to prevent the truth from coming to light.
