Hi, I just wanted to do a quick post on a new political party that's sprung up in South Africa.
History
During Apartheid in South Africa, the ANC was formed as a resistance group. Although things began peacefully, it soon became apparent that force would be needed to oppose the often violent government. Hence, in 1961, the paramilitary wing uMkhonto we Sizwe was formed. Commenting on the paramilitary wing, Nelson Mandela had the following to say:
it was only when all else had failed, when all channels of peaceful protest had been barred to us, that the decision was made to embark on violent forms of political struggle, and to form Umkhonto we Sizwe
The legacy of uMkhonto we Sizwe, or MK, remains controversial, as the group is behind what could be deemed terrorist acts, including the controversial Church Street Bombing of 1983. The attack saw a car bomb go off outside the Nedbank Square Building, killing 19 and wounding 217 civilians. This is far from the only bombing the group was responsible for.
In 1963, Mandela and other MK leaders were arrested and put on trial for high treason at the Riviona Trial. They received life sentences, though Mandela only served 27 years. The group was formally disbanded in 1993 as negotiations were underway to end apartheid.
Jacob Zuma
Jacob Gedleyihlekisa Zuma has the auspicious honor of having been a South African president despite having only completed the 6th grade (he dropped out due to financial constraints). Throughout his presidency, he got up to several shenanigans which @kaamrev has written about extensively.

Perhaps his most controversial moment was when he r*ped a woman he knew was HIV+ then showered afterwards to protect himself. Even with this drama, it wasn't enough to keep him away from presidency. Why? TRIBALISM. You see, Jacob Zuma is Zulu, and this inspires a lot of tribalism from other Zulus who want to see one of their own in power. Although he may seem crass to the outsider, he represents the patriarchal thinking that characterises many Zulu households. This tribalism is so strong that when he was arrested in 2021, it triggered almost nationwide protests that saw stores being looted and infrastructure being destroyed.

uMkhonto we Sizwe Part 2 Electric Boogaloo
Named after the paramilitary group, uMkhonto we Sizwe is a political party formed in December 2023. Its formation stems from Zuma's refusal to endorse ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa. The formation of the group has been met with resistance from ex uMkhonto we Sizwe member, and the group was taken to court, though it was ruled that the party was legal.
Zuma has been deemed ineligible to serve in Parliament due to his fifteen-month prison sentence. However, his face appears on ballots and advertising for the group. Why? TRIBALISM. It is Jacob Zuma, corruption and all, who draws in voters.
The group has performed frighteningly well, finishing in third place in the national elections with approximately 15% of all votes.
The group seriously cut into the votes of the ANC, stripping it of its majority rule and making it perhaps the most important political group of the elections for this reason. The majority of its votes come from KwaZulu-Natal which is highly populated by Zulu people who remain loyal to Zuma. The high vote count is likely good for dramacoin, and we will probably see quite a few scandals in the next four years. Among other things, the group is:
anti-foreigner
anti-homosexuality
pro-land expropriation without compensation
conclusion
I've just moved back to KZN to be closer to family. They are DA supporters despite being Zulu, so this whole ordeal is shocking to them. I'm afraid of what poor service delivery and corruption will unfold under the leadership of MK but it's nothing new in South Africa.
I like my new apartment. It has an ocean view and watching the huge sea calms me and makes me think of my problems a lot less. I'm just a small, insignificant speck on the face of the planet, and my problems won't matter at all in a few decades when I'm dead. Really puts things into perspective. Tune in next time when I discuss Sodom and Gomorrah.

I've noticed democracy in the global south pretty much always is a demographic headcount, it seems as true in South Africa as it is in Malaysia. Luckily for us mayos, the new Nigerian and Mozambican illegal migrants are taking the hate away from them
From what I've heard from a chuddy Afrikaner giving an interview at a white nationalist organization, Atlas Shrugged has already played out in South Africa and the state going into more corruption and shit is not a problem, because the private sector has been pretty successful at filling the gaps and working around the government. ANC bureaucrats are often playing pretend government while corporations do the real work. It's a situation where paradoxically, if the government becomes less corrupt, things could become worse for people, as at least with corruption everyone can work around it.
Maybe South Africa should just divide up and be smaller if you have all these problems with fractions?

Cape independence exists but any attempts at autonomy will be viewed as diluting majority rule and trying reinstitute apartheid for nationwide problems while maintaining Apartheid wealth. Coloureds are the main pushers for autonomy and independence now with ytoids tagging along to get a race blind state. DA supports devolution so maybe.
South Africa is slept walked into total Brazilianization.
