We don't have this problem when I name a new Imam I know he is straight and male, it makes hr really simple

Yeah this is pretty whack.. however, I kinda just wanted to put this out there... reading some of the comments on this and other posts is making me worried. idk if it's just me, but as someone who is a minority and just trying to get her degree and chill, this subreddits obsession with denigrating "diversity hires"/ and it's constant perpetuation of the myth that minorities are going to steal their jobs is starting to make me uncomfortable. Yall are not being discriminated against. Just chill out. I do believe that it's important for workplaces to be diverse. And I hope when I graduate and get a job, that where I work isn't just a room of straight white dudes, because genuinely I'm starting to think that they're all going to think I'm a diversity hire. I genuinely am starting to feel scared of what the workplace is going to be like because of posts like these. There's barely any non men in my classes. There's no lgbt folks(to my knowledge). I really hope that isn't the case in the future. Idk maybe i should unsub because I genuinely don't get the hostility anymore.

I agree with you, the comments here are pretty awful. Still, most companies nowadays are starting to pay more attention towards diversity, and if you find one that actually cares about it, the chances you'll only work with resentful straight men people are lower, so luckily for us, the trend is positive. Of course, as you can read in this thread, this trend is not without its opponents.

No awareness (or complete awareness?) from the diversity hires.

Just claim you're tran-to-whatever-s*x-you-are. You get asspats and mine seethe for passing so well.

For your information, "internet comments" aren't some special kind of imaginary or play world. They are real comments from real people. This is still an actual conversation, genius, just like it was happening in someone's house, face to face. Maybe to you, it's just internet comments and comedy because you don't know what real life is. Look at your user name. Everything is just sarcasm to you. Look at your posts. You have no inner compass. Everything is just for a joke.
