STIs don't make you dirty.

They are viruses and bacteria...like strep or the cold or the flu. Humans share viruses and bacteria with each other. Its part of life. Take the pill, get cured, move on .

Herpes, hepatitis, and aids have no cure. I’m also told genital warts (HPV) don’t ever completely go away they’re just dormant. Siphylus is also really nasty and eats your brain if you don’t treat it early enough.

IDK why the original commenter is so brash about this, but this is actually true. Bacterial shit is generally curable, but there's definitely a threat of antibiotic resistant strains developing. The persistent things tend to be retroviruses that integrate with host DNA and pop back up at different points due to not well understood stimuli.

With HIV there's a bunch of treatments now that make it less of a death sentence, and there's stuff that mitigates transmission, but people acting like AIDS is cured and HIV don't matter are huffing the copium. People being declared virus free even with the expensive medical treatments are still rare enough to be news stories.
