That's an affair, not an open relationship. If marriage is not on the cards, and it doesn't sound like it, then he's going to dump this woman for the co-worker. She may as well acknowledge the truth, because even if she agrees to 'open up' their relationship, the fact that he already has it all planned out about the affair means that it's over. End it now rather than waiting for the inevitable "sorry, we've grown apart and I'm leaving you" speech.
