imagine living in such a dystopian hellscape where you have to just run electricity through a wire to heat your food instead of using fire like our grandmothers did

Induction stove tops are pretty good. Not so sure about having a giant microwave for an oven though.

I hate that the controls are in the front (between you and the food) instaed of the back
i'd be spilling food and boiling water on that every day
cant be good for the electronics

Aren't most that way?
Good point tho
Maybe reaching over hot things to control it is bad or something

Traditionally...
Electric was at the back so there'd be more room for the electronics
Gas was at the front so you didn't have to reach over an open flame
Some electric models try to imitate the control layout of gas, either to appear more premium or so they can reuse the cabinet between the two models.

I've never had a problem reaching. also makes it more childproof
on the front face is okay I guess
I still don't like it
but taking up a huge area between you and the food is just wrong
me, im spilling half that pot of water and getting grease all ofver this thing
like imagine cooking bacon then trying to press a button
