This only makes sense if you don't know much about Hezbollah and assume that they're just like any other insurgency, which they're not. Hezbollah had very competent leadership for the past couple decades that's been able to plan and execute sophisticated operations and has historically shown relatively good discernment about when to escalate and deescalate. Together with Iran they have moving towards long term goals that go beyond the likes of Hamas or ISIS who are focused on just lashing out whenever the opportunity presents itself. They're pretty much the only insurgency in the Middle East that are capable of building a functioning government that isn't self-destructively backwards. Groups like the Taliban and ISIS rely on strict interpretations of Sharia Law not just because they're super devout but because it's fricking easy and lets them excuse their government's functional incompetence by using piety as a shield.

That surprises me since whenever you see Israelis debating it it seems more like one side is "we should annihilate every muslim on earth and dance in their blood" and the other side is "my opponent is a bleeding heart muslim loving scumbag who doesn't go far enough, we need to annihilate every muslim then make factories to clone muslims so we can continue to kill them"
