Some parts of metric make sense, but others are just as r-slurred as freedom units
Measuring a human? Centimeters. Measuring a car? Millimeters. They'll tell you that their garage bay is 6.1m or 609.6cm deep, but their Mondeo is 4,871mm long.
Fuel economy is relative to a fixed distance (100km) rather than fixed volume (liters, the thing you're actually paying for and has a variable price)
They only use mm, cm, and m for human-sized measurements, despite dm being a logical unit. 1dm is roughly 4 inches, so a 1dm cube can be comfortably held in one hand. But they'll call it a 10cm or 100mm cube instead.

Well almost nothing you said is correct. I would use meters, centimeters and millimeters according to what accuracy is required(or the accuracy in which I measured it). Never met anyone measuring their cars in mm (which would be borderline impossible btw)
Do you not understand that with the power of 10 you can choose which unit you're using? Nobody forces anyone to use mm or meters for a measurement. But nobody is measuring themselves in mm's when it comes to a persons height.
Dm isn't used because u don't use a ruler that is in that scale. Its an r-slured way to measure something.
The main benefit about the metric system is for scientific calculations. The units convert into eachother easily and are all related. It takes 1000 calories to heat up a liter of water by 1 degree celsius. And a liter of water is 1dm cubed filled (the only time you legit use dm, btw)
Other than that I don't see how any measuring system is better than the other considering they are all made up and pretty arbitrary

Yes manufacturers can tell you in mms how long their own cars are because they made them to that accuracy. Regular people never use that, which is what you were talking about.

Oh and my car shows L/100km , L/km or L/h

Literally look up the specs on any bong-market vehicle.
That's what I mean. Despite being the size of your hand, roughly equivalent to the SAE "foot", nobody uses it.

Whats the difference in saying 4585 mm or 180.5"

And yet nobody ever says their car length in cm. They regurgitate the mm because they can't reason out necessary precision themselves.
The difference is precision. You could day 459cm and be roughly as precise as 180.5"
But anyway i don't fricking care, today sucks, eat shit and have a happy new year

this is because they forget which dm is decimeter and which is decameter but don't want to admit it

Don't yuros use L/h as a consumption metric? It's honestly a better measurement for gauging efficiency at a discrete point than L/km.

No they use "liters per hundred kilometers" for fuel efficiency
