My personal theory is that first worlders get bombarded by SAAARs so much in scam calls that the accent itself is linked to scams in our brains. UK/Canada/Oz/US deal with these people all the time, and there is a growing market for scambaiting where people make money filming their baits. If you listen to baits, it's always indians with a few nigerian crypto scammers in there. Indians are the ones with the calls though, so you can unironically avoid most scams by hanging up based entirely on an indian accent.

Lots of other things attribute to it too, but their own countrymen made it so the average first worlder thinks of indians as scammers.

It's because a rich guy they like flat out told them great replacement is real and he plans to impliment it.
