this worked for me like a year or two ago on an account I didn't even want unbanned, I think my appeal was just something like "ok sir i can delete it" ("it" was some "I am literally going to kill you" fedposty tweet directed at one of my own accounts, because I was trying to get an account perma'd without threatening an innocent rando, then a year or two later I Sexy Indian dudepealed on a whim not expecting it to work, so a day or two later I just deleted the account the normal way)
