Yeah, the word 'kids' does a heck of a lot of heavy lifting when you're generally discussing high schoolers. Most actual kids that get shot are poor things caught in the crossfire of teenagers and adults, who are too stupid to consider their poorly aimed bullet could go through the wall of a nearby house and hit a poor kiddo inside.
