I'm 52, been an activist most of my life, and my advice at this point is to tune out. My dad told me when I was 20, these rich parasites (on both sides) are going to do what they want - they don't care what we think because there is no serious working class movement in this country. There can't be, because propaganda has successfully severed the working class into "the left" and "the right."
No, we won't be "ok." In the last 3 years of Biden's presidency, homelessness beat the record it set the year before. 60,000 people drop dead a year because they can't afford basic health care. A handful of parasites own the vast majority of wealth. But if you're asking will we survive Trump? Sure. What's most likely to happen is another flip to Democrats in charge, because nothing Trump is doing will improve the lives of average citizens. So people will get/stay angry, but blame Republicans this time. Democrats will run Newsome or some other neoliberal corporatist and they'll probably win. And liberals can go back to not caring about deportations, poverty, government overreach, and free speech. And Republicans can pretend to be outraged. Rinse and repeat until Americans wake up and realize both these parties function as political theatre meant to distract us from the billionaires who have been looting us, destroying the working class, and engaging in illegal resource wars that murder thousands of innocent people every year.
But yeah, if you just want things to return to "normal," you'll be fine.
