You are almost there chudarino. Almost like calling them illegal immigrants ignores that its not actually illegal to be in the US without status. The reason they could be quickly deported is because its administrative not legal. The US doesn't criminalize being in the US without status because doing so means 4th, 5th and 6th apply so they are entitled to legal representation, a court and a bond.
Cases like this are going to end up being a pretty giant L. They are using the 2 year exception to avoid needing to send them to immigration court but having a USC child over 2 is pretty striking evidence they have been in the US longer than 2 years. They are going to sue and win.
