A lot of DDOS services are "set it and forget it" after you pay. The zoomer who paid for the attack might not even remember it's still running.

The basic explaination of a DDOS is that it's a bunch of computers coordinating to send requests to a website as rapidly as possible in order to overwhelm it. In most cases these computers are controlled through a botnet which is just a bunch of machines that can be remotely controlled through trojans installed on them. Anyone with the technical know-how to set up a botnet either already has a legit job or is busy making money doing blackhat shit so it's likely an Etika stan just paid to use somebody else's.

IoT botnet, written entirely in lua and go. The go binary is just a lua interpreter and the actual botnet logic is streamed from the c2 server to the bot as needed. Makes any attempts at reverse engineering far harder because nothing malicious exists on disk
