Teachers and nurses have what are technically skilled and useful professions. They’re more fun to dunk on because teachers are literally ruining children’s lives, and nurses are universally reviled in the healthcare system and refuse to understand that while they’re necessary, their skillset is negligible and they’re only necessary because they’re willing to do busywork that is beneath actual medical professionals.

Wait staff are just all around fricking worthless and have the most bullshit easy job imaginable and already make bank on tips and still always want more, more, more despite having the most superfluous and unnecessary job imaginable. But it’s generally understood that they’ll be done away with thanks to automation soon, so it’s a bad look to make fun of them unless they get uppity. I think a lot of it also has to do with the fact that it’s extremely reminiscent of bullying the help and it’s impossible not to be punching down when you pick on them.

When they refuse to stay in their lane like this, though, all bets are off.
