It's actually an interesting, unsolved (as far as I know) medical mystery why the polio vaccine is so effective. Also polio still exists in other parts of the world which is why nearly 100% of the US is vaccinated against it at birth, unlike covid. Also also it only exists in humans not animals.

It actually isn't very effective where you're organically exposed to the virus. I had to take like 5-6 pulse polio hits when I was a kid, that was recommendation here cause normal, westoid dosages, didn't work. I think they revised it down in 2011, after we went 10 years without a polio case.
