Ukraine's Reddit brigade gets liquidated by a cruise missile before it can start training. Survivor currently trying to convince other Redditors not to go

OP's profile is a good read: https://old.reddit.com/user/spindokto/

Redditors are accusing him of being a Russian disinfo agent

Yeah dude the Ukrainian border guards were asking if we had extra gear for them, unreal how close they're taking it

Did not come to fight, I'm a medic and came to treat casualties, preferably without becoming one myself

Witnesses mass casualty event his first day there, instantly leaves

Also, who really expects a jet to attack them πŸ˜‚ That's part of being naive, of course I knew it was a possibility I was just really fricking hoping it wouldn't happen to me

:marseybrainlet:

That was what a lot of people were saying, that they were pushing the legion up to Kviv as cannon fodder. And how can you argue that when guys are given no training, and AK with no butt stock, and one magazine? When guys were asking for more ammo a Ukrainian officer said "take it off dead russians"

Based, Westoids getting the full eastern front experience

Those of us who left, including SF operators from multiple countries, are simply risk mitigating. No one wants to die in an unfair fight, and after getting absolutely fricking pummeled by massive cruise missiles today - yeah I kind of want people to think twice before turning their life upside down to go and volunteer.

Life comes at you fast

Honestly I went there not planning on taking much risk

:marseyautism:

The cannon fodder term is what was coming out of a lot of volunteers mouths that's why I mentioned it. There was a real shift in peoples expectations of being utilized as a unit with operational capabilities vs. the reality of basically being bodies in front of the advancing Russians

Wait, you mean a country fighting a desperate defensive war against a superior opponent is taking a lot of casualties? :marseyshook:

I am in Poland! With many other volunteers. I'm man enough to walk away from a situation when my gut tells me so.

Shits pants, refuses to elaborate, immediately deserts :gigachad2:

Destroying a nuke doesn't make it detonate, and that analogy doesn't mean anything with modern computers (especially with high-powered lasers being inevitable)

Lasers ware supposed to be released in 1990 and we should been living in another galaxy’s. But reality lasers will exist after the mayogenocide

I know with absolute certainty how things will be in the future

most reasonable internet argument

If we know for sure it will never ever be feasible, why are nations pumping fricktons of money into researching countermeasures? That alone proves experts think there's a realistic chance countermeasures could eventually work
