I think smacking kids is only necessary if you're a basic r-slur who gets outwitted by your own children.

I have a behavioir chart that is working wonders with my difficult 5 year old. There are 5 things he needs to do well, go to school happy (he doesn't like going and can throw massive tantrums and yell)(...)

It might be that they don't go straight to class, instead they go to the learning centre (a soecial needs classroom) and play with a preferred toy or talk with a preferred adult for a bit. Sometimes we will create jobs they can do (delivering stuff) to give them a chance to be in the building a bit before settling down in class. Or sometimes i will just make a point of having the first morning activity be a preferred one for that kid for a few weeks, until we build back those positive school feelings.

They suggest all this because a kid isn't happy to go to school lmao. So instead of just telling him to deal with it just treat him and coddle him like hes neurodivergent and when it works pat yourself on the back until he grows up expecting the world to move heaven and earth for his benefit. First, it’s ridiculous that you guys make it out to seem like you’re an oppressed group.

Your automod message says ‘scalper’ is an ethnic slur and you call yourselves a minority group. Please, I invite you all to look up the definition of ethnicity. It means the state of belonging to a social group that has a common national or cultural tradition. That means national or cultural customs that are passed down from generation to generation. I’d like to hear how you guys fit that definition, I’m sure you can convince yourselves of something. All you’re doing is disrespecting the suffering of actual oppressed groups. If you think ‘scalper’ is on the same level as the n-word, you’re nuts. Plus, if you really thought it were an ethnic slur, you wouldn’t have put it in the name of your subreddit.

I also love how you describe this subreddit as a safe space while all you seemingly do is boast about your enormous profits and gripe about all the “discrimination” you face. It feels a lot like one big circle jerk, not a source of support. Second, I’d like to point out that people don’t hate you scalpers because of who you are, they hate you because of what you do. Scalping takes the ability to buy stuff away from people who may really want it but can’t afford the prices scalpers charge. Do I want a PS5? Yes. Do I want to spend two or three times the retail price to get one? Not even close. That’s largely thanks to you guys, and that is why people don’t like scalpers. You can choose not to do that, but because you’re greedy and inconsiderate, you won’t. Ultimately, I’m annoyed that you guys scalp, but what I really take issue with is the way you present yourselves; the way you attempt to avoid criticism by fabricating a culture around scalping with the idea that you deserve respect as a minority group. If you get to the point where you have to spank your kids, then you've already failed as a parent and should just give them up for adoption. There are far more psychologically effective forms of discipline like extended sleep deprivation, stress positions, and caloric restrictions. These techniques will get you compliance without ever laying hands on a child. Not to mention these techniques were developed by two psychology PhDs and we're extensively field tested in the mid-2000s by the US government. Look up Dr. Mitchell and Dr. Jessen if you don't believe me.

Taking kids things away when they’re bad instead of spanking is probably what makes millennials and zoomers blame society and capitalism for them not having a house or consumer shit when they in reality just make bad decisions with money or with life

spanking isn't abuse, its a sign you got outwitted as a parent that you resort to a lower form of punishment. Psychological punishments are much worse and much more effective and much more widely accepted which will never not be funny to me.

If your kids attack somebody physically, you should spank them. They need to learn early on that physically hurting people is very bad, and the best way to instill a lesson in people is to do to them exactly what they are trying to do to others. If my kids turn out anything like me, they're going to grow up to be pretty strong, and if spanking them a few times when they're young can save them from breaking somebody's head and getting jail time later on in life, then I'm doing them a service by spanking them.

I don't think spanking should be used on children for anything else though, only as a punishment for physical attacks. Otherwise you're teaching them that it's OK to use violence as a response to non-violent behavior, and that's a very dangerous lesson. Violence is good only as a response to violent behavior.
