I want to add that the boss they are discussing continues to give information about how the game works even after you learn first to ignore it. When you then progress to the first enemy camp/ruin, the similarities of the boss and the people in there tell you that these are hostile people. On top of that, the small hesitancy that the boss has before drawing their weapon and beating your butt also conveys that those types of troops will โplay fairโ (not throwing out random bs and telegraphing their moves, plus waiting for you to draw a weapon and get close before engaging) when trying to kill you vs other types of enemies in different factions. God I would suck 30 jap peepees to get frequent releases that are as good as Fromsoftโs games.

I didn't even fight him the first time. The game drops you in a big open area right after telling you about stealth in the tutorial. There are clearly important landmarks nearby (most obviously the church) that you'll want to head towards. TS looks big and tough, and he has a horse and you don't yet. He also is walking on a road which you can leave at any time. I didn't assume he was a boss, I just figured he was a tough enemy to try later, and I avoided him.
I'm not saying it's wrong to try him (most players will, and many big From enemies go down easily), but at very least he is meant to appear obviously more dangerous than anything else around.

You can fight him at lvl 1, you're gonna be in pain and it'll take awhile bc you can't hit that hard but you can. You can also level up and fight him when you have more levels and better shit. It does really hurt the balance. "Builds" are for online superfans, most players will play through once or twice and would benefit from a more tailored experience.
I wouldn't take away customization and stats, but the system could use less of a gap between choosing the gameplay style you want to have and actually spending upgrade points. Nothing worse than beating a tough boss, gaining like 5 levels, and getting to choose between 50 more hp, 2 more pounds of carry weight, or 3 higher damage on your weapon. Less frequent choices but more meaningful ones would be nice.

Honestly, they're not entirely wrong. One of my biggest issues with ER is that the lack of any actual direction means that you will inevitably sequence break and it can really muck up the experience as a whole. The tutorial/starter area is in the opposite direction of the first quest in the open world, so you will end up stumbling on it over-leveled as frick 50 hours later and realize "oh this was where I was supposed to learn the game". I kinda hate the boss design anyway though so I don't mind being over-leveled and oneshotting them.
However they don't mention Weeping Peninsula at all and appear to just be complaining about stupid stuff, idk i didn't read the post
