What's astounding to me is that she attended the Iowa Writer's Workshop which is the most competitive and prestigious writing program in the country. How someone that is obviously talented in their own right could frick up their life in such an astoundingly stupid way is beyond me. Why even do this? Paraphrasing isn't plagiarism, why not do that? So many questions.

Even getting in in the first place is a huge deal. Perhaps she plagiarized her way into the program to begin with? I just don't understand why someone would want to be a writer when they seem to have a pathological need to...not write?
