Sexual harassment charges filed against middle school students for using wrong pronouns :marseyclown3:

An investigation into three Kiel Middle School students has been launched.

The school district has filed a Title IX complaint against the students, accusing them of sexual harassment for using incorrect pronouns when addressing another student.

“I received a phone call from the principal over at the elementary school, forewarning me; letting me know that I was going to be receiving an email with sexual harassment allegations against my son,” Rosemary Rabidoux, one of the parents of the students being accused said.

“I immediately went into shock! I’m thinking, sexual harassment? That’s r*pe, that’s inappropriate touching, that’s incest” Rabidoux said. “What has my son done?”

Rabidoux’s 13-year-old son Braden is one of the three eighth grade Kiel Middle School students accused of sexual harassment - something she disputes.

“(The investigating principal) said he’s being allegedly charged with sexual harassment for not using proper pronouns,” said Rabidoux. “I thought it wasn’t real! I thought this has got to be a gag, a joke -- one has nothing to do with the other.”

According to the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty, now defending the accused students, in March, one of their peers announced the pronouns they'd prefer to be addressed as - they/them.

One of the alleged incidents Braden and the others were supposedly involved in happened in late April.

“She had been screaming at one of Braden’s friends to use proper pronouns, calling him profanity, and this friend is very soft-spoken, and kind of just sunk down into his chair,” Rabidoux explained. “Braden finally came up, defending him, saying ‘He doesn’t have to use proper pronouns, it’s his constitutional right to not use, you can’t make him say things.’”

Some say, this could show Rabidoux and her son are against the LGBTQ + community.

“Not at all. Not at all!” said Rabidoux. “My children have been raised to love everybody equally.”

Shortly after finding out her son was being investigated, Rabidoux reached out to WILL.

“Title IX sexual harassment typically covers things like r*pe, dating violence, quid pro quo sexual favors; really egregious stuff,” WILL deputy counsel Luke Berg said. “There’s nothing even remotely close to that alleged in this case.”

WILL says the misuse of pronouns is not a part of the school district’s policy or Title IX.

“The charge against students for sexual harassment is an extreme abuse of the Title IX process,” said Berg. “It’s totally inappropriate and is totally being mishandled by the school district.”

FOX 11 reached out to the Kiel School District.

It provided us with a statement, saying: “The KASD prohibits all forms of bullying and harassment in accordance with all laws, including Title IX” It goes on to say that it will “continue to support ALL students regardless of s*x (including transgender status, change of s*x or gender identity)”

There's really only one side of the story out there. I'd be willing to bet that the extent of bullying that actually occurred went quite a bit further than what was described by the families' lawyers.

A government official is doing something that objectively is illegal and an abuse of their power but hold on... we don't want to rush to judgement... let's wait till all the facts are in... in the fullness of time...

Really makes you :marseyhmm: if they'd apply this same standard to a cop.

im gonna go out on a limb and say this story should be put on a backburner and noone should be getting heated till we know all the facts. Kids are just fricking monsters at that age and will tear each other down crab bucket theory style to be top shit.

I'd honestly estimate that 90+% of days I went to middle school I'd been called a cute twink 10 times in the first 20 minutes. I had to be constantly engaged in low-level physical violence. I had to get in fights repeatedly to prove that I was willing to take the punishment if anyone fricked with me.

Yeah, it sucks. But that's middle school. It's a transitional phase where your parents aren't always there to protect you so you have to learn to stand up for yourself. The sickest thing we could do is to take that and have some twisted adult in a position of authority get in on the game and choose which kid they're going to bully using the legal system.

Were you in an inner city school or something?

This was considered to be a normal part of socialization in America until very recently. Compare it to other civilized countries. Heck, @chiobu probably was in the role of Van Damme in Bloodsport and killed like 64 guys just to get where he is today. We have something to learn from that.

The fighting was pretty minimal in my school because those who got caught were publicly caned which was a pretty huge deterrent. Also don't forget the male teachers went through the military so they definitely use military style punishments occasionally lol. But yeah the name calling and all was rampant since we were not PC and shit so we would probably call people slurs and all but it was all pretty normal :marseyshrug:

Here's how the public caning is like but of course less dramatic lol

Sometimes you really do just have to scare the shit out of boys every once in a while to keep em in line.

Do you have to sit there and watch the caning or are you allowed to take the time to study for your 2nd cram school (as long as you do it quietly)?

the point is to humiliate the person getting whipped plus scare the rest of us so the rest of us have to watch lmao, plus it was during the period where the whole school gathered so there's no cram class anyway

I was talking to a cousin at that age recently and he claims there's no fights at his school, as in he has never once fought. :marseysadge: I'd warn his parents to watch out so that :marseyeggirl: doesn't crack but they aren't terminally online enough to know what :marseytrans2: are.
